Rev. Dorothy Hilliard has been the Pastor of Faith Fellowship Church of God since 2009. While she entered Pastoral ministry late in life, she has been actively involved in many aspects of church life since adolescence. Growing up in the foster care system she found family in her church community. At the age of 12 she started teaching Sunday school and sang with the choir.
While she continued to teach Sunday school she dedicated her time and talents to her first, and in her words most important calling, motherhood. Throughout the years she, with the help of her late husband Jim and her five children, ran the kitchen at Praise Cathedral Church of God. For several years, she also served as the director of Women’s Ministries at Praise Cathedral. In 2002, she and Jim started training as lay ministers at Praise Cathedral Church of God, a role she continued to serve in until the Lord opened the door for her to enter full time Pastoral ministry in 2009.
Over the summer of 2007 she ran the Sunday Chapel program at Family Affair Campground in North East Pennsylvania. In 2008, she became the Accociate Pastor of Meadville Church of God, where she served until asked to take on the role of interim pastor at Faith Fellowship.
She received her Exhorter’s License in 2010 and was Ordained in 2012. In 2015, she was conferred Master of Counseling from Pentecostal Theological Seminary. She has served as Vice President of the Pregnancy Support Ministry in Warren since 2010 and works as a grief counselor for Hospice of Warren County. Her plan for the future is to serve the Lord in whatever manner He calls until the day she is called home to Him (hopefully a long time from now).
